Jaguar S-Type and Sting Desert Rose from 2000

Desert Rose by Sting from year 2000. If you were born during 1990s, most probably you cannot remember the video clip of Desert Rose and the car that featured. It was Jaguar S-Type! 

Jaguar S-Type was built when the Ford owned the Jaguar and it was one of the most sensational car on year 2000. Actually, everything was sensational on those years, except mobile phone operation systems. Today, everyone installed the Apple’s new IOS 7. And we celebrated like an independence day. I was one of them as well. Now I am thinking, it is just a new operation system to a mobile device. 13 years ago, you could not update your phone operation system! It must be done by the authorised service. On those years, Google was not a sensation and Desert Rose was a very popular song. And again Jaguar S-Type was very coolers than Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5-Series and Audi A6! And also there was Saab 95. 

In addition, it was first year at the university and we didn’t have Facebook and the only communication was done by the SMS message. And none of the mobile operators were offering unlimited text or unlimited call. And mobile internet was something, which is only available at mobile phone’s user manual and no one ever experienced it. 

Why I am writing all these? Believe me I have no idea. May be the IOS 7 celebrations gave me a flashback to the beginning of this century.

Anyway, Jaguar S-Type was a nice car :) I still have the CD of Desert Rose but don't have a CD player to listen...

Gisele Bündchen for H&M with Classic Cars with Video

Gisele Bündchen for H&M is the campaign for the fall / winter collection. I am sure you remember Gisele Bündchen from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows. She used to be their model but not anymore. That’s enough for the explanation :)

Gisele and H&M created these campaigns ads with vintage cars. And these cars are available to drive! I did some comprehensive research (Googling) and found the company who arranged the vintage cars. It is Classic Car Club London, it is in Old Street, London. And it is a membership club. You pay the fee and drive the Jaguar E-Type! 

So if you love Gisele Bündchen, you have the chance to drive the Jaguar E-Type she was sitting on it. Or the other ones. If you are a woman, you have the chance to buy the pieces Gisele liked on H&M but this is a bit impossible men :) So go for the E-Type.

Regarding to classic cars on background of Gisele Bündchen for H&M; they are not random cars. And never random cars appears on campaigns. They are were rented from the Classic Car Club London. If H&M decided to take photos with random cars, it will end up with Honda Civic, Ford Transit, another Ford Transit, Ford Focus and another Ford Transit.

Russian Car Journalist Anastasia Tregubova Tests Jaguar F-Type

Jaguar F-Type driven by Anastasia Tregubova, the Russian car journalist. Probably the sexiest car journalist on this planet :) 

Anyway, as you expected the test drive is in Russian but thanks to YouTube translate function, I partially understand what she was telling. And I don’t agree on some! The main argument for the Jaguar F-Type is the interior built quality and state-of-art complicated navigation screen. The interior looks exclusive and ergonomically designed, however the material quality for the interior is not matching with the interior of the competitors, such as Porsche 911! I was expecting to see higher quality material to appreciate the Porsche 911 level price tag.

The navigation screen is still a disaster in Jaguar Land Rover group. It is not user friendly, very complicated to use. I think Anastasia and rest of the world agree with me. Jaguar Land Rover has to find a solution for the navigation screen.

The rest is I agree with Anastasia. Jaguar F-Type is a unique car with a very engaging driving character. I am sure that, if I drove a F-Type I would love the ride. However, the high price tag reduces the gap between the Porsche 911. And when the Porsche 911 is close range, my brain will be questioning why I bought a Jaguar F-Type.

And many people will be asking the same question. The answer for the question is Jaguar F-Type is exclusive and Porsche 911 is a mass-market! That’s the difference. You can see a Porsche 911 literally everywhere but F-Type is really rare. However, Porsche 911 is way better built than a Jaguar F-Type. That’s the problem. But for some people, that’s a not problem :)
